This is the most affordable, easiest-to-use gimbal out of the box. The Osmo 3 is all about the single-button shooting experience. Press, shoot, and the DJI app will take care of the rest. It’s point-and-shoot camera simplicity with modern gimbal functionality. This means you can make your footage look cinematic with the click of a button, just throw your phone in the gimbal and immediately start shooting. This gimbal has also made huge strides in portability. What it lacks in payload capacity, it more than makes up for with ease of use, portability, and price. The Osmo Mobile 3 makes buttery professional clips the most accessible they have ever been, and we are here for it.

What We Love:

1. Affordable:

The Osmo 3 is among the cheapest gimbals on the market.

2. DJI Name:

You get DJI quality and the brand's intuitive app to control gimbal.

3. Easy to Use:

One-button shooting, simple controls, and designed for portrait and landscape shooting.

The Details:

Brand: DJI

Product Type: Gimbal

Best For: Plug-and-play ease, occasional videographers, and anyone who loves DJI products.

To Know:

Peak Design spent two years designing this tripod and it shows. It packs down into the size of a water bottle. This is true for both the Aluminum and Carbon models, as well, two similarly designed photography tools made with different materials. For years, traditional tripods have suffered a critical flaw: needless bulk and wasted space, the result of a spatially inefficient design. By redesigning the tripod from the ground up, Peak created the world’s most portable travel tripod—one that packs to the diameter of two 32oz Nalgenes —without sacrificing height, stability, or load capacity.

What We Love:

1. Super Compact

It folds down to fit into the water bottle compartment on your bag.

2. Precise

Multiple leg adjustments to range from super high to as low as the ground.

3. Packs It On

20lb weight capacity, optimized for use with full-frame DSLR + telephoto lens.

The Details:

Brand: Peak Design

Product Type: Tripod

Best For: Travelers in need of something light to pack for all-day shoots in mild to harsh conditions.

To Know:

This lens is what a full-frame fisheye because it allows you to use the full image sensor on the latest camera phones, like the iPhone 11, with no dark corners or vignetting. This means you get a crisp image edge to edge, using 15% more of the image sensor than Moment’s Fisheye 15mm. This lens is also sharper than ultra wide, especially on the edges. This is due to the additional elements of bi-aspheric glass, an all new optical design, and the fact that the lens mounts over the built-in wide lens letting in 25% more light on top of a higher resolution camera. Best of all, it works in Night mode when an ultra wide lens does not. This is, no doubt, the widest and sharpest lens you can shoot on a phone.

What We Love:

1. The Widest It Gets

The look of the lens is super vast, with a 170 degree field of view, producing a 30% wider image than the 120 degrees you will find on ultra wide phones lenses.

2. Night Mode Is Better

Because you’re unable to use the ultra wide lens on the iPhone 11 in Night Mode, you can mount the FIsheye 14mm over the native wide lens in Night Mode for a sharp image that would otherwise be impossible to get.

3. Tack Sharp

Due to the full framed sensor, this means you’ll get a crisp image edge to edge using 15% more of the image sensor than the Fisheye 15mm.

The Details:

Brand: Moment

Lens Type: Fisheye

Devices: iPhone, Pixel, Samsung, One Plus

Best For: Fun portraits, in-action shots, architecture, and fast action.

How We Tested

Our filmmakers love a good comparison. They gathered a well-rounded list of home studio gear from least to most expensive across different brands to test all of them against the same blanket of circumstances. We found all of them to hold up nicely against one another, each owning a specific set of qualities that are particular to its individualistic self. Every item are all uniquely awesome and serves their own set of needs. Lights are a must, microphones help, and a gimbal is essential. We loved this test and can’t wait to bring you more.
